Just finished Gibson's Neuromancer audiobook & it was a wild ride. I've had some peak moments of descriptive intensity, where I'd like to print passages off and frame them, but also some moments of overload & phasing out.

I'm still not 100% on the narrative.

It feels like a tech heavy Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.

I can see, the first read through is only the beginning.

I bounced off it hard in the 90's, guzzled Burning Chrome instead. But now I'm determine to squeeze the juice out of this!

Some seriously good indie games that support #Linux you should be checking out in the Steam sales:

#1: MidBoss - Kill your enemies, steal their bodies! Do I really need to say more?

Here are my recommendations from the GOG weekly sales and the Steam Lunar New Year sales:

https://parasurv.neocities.org/blog/what-game-i-would-buy-this-week-02-2019.html

I included Steam too, as many games don't have DRM-free versions, and still worth to play them.

I also included some games that require Wine or Steam Proton, but the majority has Linux support.

If you like the list please share this post. Thank you!

GitLab really made it to become a great tool. In the beginning it was pretty copy-cat of GitHub. These days they provide a ton of features which are well integrated.

I'm starting to like it more than GitHub. And comparing the GitLab vs. the GitHub workflow, GitLab makes somehow more sense.

Let's see what happens in the next few weeks. Maybe I push more things to GitLab instances.

If you enjoy using switching.social and would like to support the site, please consider buying "The Switching Social Handbook":

kobo.com/ebook/the-switching-s

It's short, but it's designed mainly to complement the website rather than duplicate it. It discusses the challenges to privacy and looks at the alternatives on offer.

It's a DRM-free ePub file, which should work on most major eBook readers.

(Let me know about any problems or feedback!)

My exploration of roguelike dungeon generation continues. I'm writing a generator based on binary space partitioning for a university algorithms project and it's coming along quit nicely. Rooms are starting to look okay and they are connected.

This always lifts me.

The Chameleons playing an acoustic version of their Fan & the Bellows.

It provides a pacier backdrop with a more intimate personal feel to it.

"She manipulates..
Steals my mind..
And hides it in her garden."

"And now..
Only love can bring me down
Somehow..
Somehow love must bring me down..
I've become the fan and the bellows."

Opps what's up here?

Duckduckgo now started to send a request to "improve.duckduckgo.com" on each search request including: The search term, the country and some other information.

The good news is that they have a document about it:
duck.co/help/privacy/atb

Make up your own mind about it. "Privacy by design" is their statement. Do you think that's privacy by design? uBlock Origin decided to cancel those requests on my side.
